Summer of 2014 LUG JAM Dates

We have confirmed the next 4 Lug Jam dates with our meeting place, Chuckles Jack Restaurant. Reminders will be sent out to you as each Jam draws near, but this is an opportunity to add your Jam dates to your calendar.

June 29, 2014
July 20, 2014
August 24, 2014
September 28, 2014

As always, the Jam starts at 6:30 p.m.

If you are coming for dinner first, we suggest you get there for 5:30 p.m. so you can eat and have your table cleared by 6:30.

We plan to be using the Daily Ukulele book and The Albany Song Book for most of our playing.  If you have special song requests, then bring about 20 copies so we can all play.

As well, if you would like to treat us to a solo performance, please let us know by email to this site beforehand and we can set up a slot for you.

Tonight is the Night!

Are you ready for tonight? Is your Uke tuned? Do you have a table stand? Got a Daily Ukulele Book? Down loaded your Albany Beginner book at http://albanyukulele.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/songbook15.pdf  ? Remember. If you are having dinner at Chuckles Jack it’s best to be there closer to 5:30 so you can enjoy the food before we start to strum at 6:30.

Drag a friend along.  See you there!

May 2014 LUG Jam

Here we go again.

Are you ready for another exciting summer of ukulele? Well let’s start it off right with a great Jam at our old stomping ground, Chuckles Jack, in Smiths Falls. As usual we will start with the beginner songs and move on the the trickier songs as the evening progresses.

Where – Chuckles Jack Restaurant, located in the Comfort Inn, Smiths Falls (down at the Canal behind the Giant Tiger Mall).

When – Sunday, May 25th, 2014, 5:30 p.m. for dinner (if you want) and 6:30 for the music.

As always, bring your Daily Ukulele book and the Beginners Albany book. See you there!

NOTE: If you don’t have these books then you can:
1) get the Daily Ukulele Book, by Jim Beloff, from Amazon
2) get the Albany book from their web site (It’s free – you just have to print it) OR
3) just show up and look on with one of our regulars. Most of us are very friendly.

Good Try for a Christmas Jam

Hello all.  I’m afraid my idea of a 15 December Uku Jam has fizzled out. Over the past week some neighbours who’d said they’d be interested in attending have been lured away by a local Christmas party and a live performance by Leahy in downtown Perth.  As well, several of you could not make that date either.

How do you compete with Leahy???  Seems Christmas outings have taken precedence over our plans.  However, I’d like to try again for a Jam sometime in January.  I’ll be in touch later in December with dates.  Sorry folks.  Guess that’s life!

Merry Ukulele Christmas to one and all.  Hope to see most of you in January.

Good cheers for now!
