July 17th, 2022 Jam

We are excited to once again hold an in-person jam. Please join us for for another great set on July 17th, 2022.

Where: Generations Market & Restaurant, 717 Lake Park Road, Carleton Place.

We will be jamming outdoors under the big tent along the shores of the Mississippi Lake. Rain or shine … there is lots of space inside under the tent with tables and chairs for all. Parking is plentiful for those arriving by car, the dock is in for those that prefer to take a boat and Generations is even close to the Ottawa Valley Recreational trail for those who choose to come by bike!

Drinks and food are available during the jam. For anyone wanting to stay for dinner afterwards on the Patio we strongly suggest that you make reservations for 6:00 PM at 613-254-5253.

When: July 17th, 2022 4:30 PM

Strumming starts promptly at 4:30 PM so make sure to come a little early to find your seat, tune up your ukulele and grab a refreshing beverage to support Generations for hosting us. We will be having a short break half way through and finishing up around 6:00 PM.

SET LIST

We will project the chords and lyrics during the jam. Most people find that they get the most enjoyment out of the set by practising prior to the jam. You can download a copy of the set (in PDF format) here:

For people with an iOS device running OnSong, you can get a copy of the OnSong archive here.

Finally for people with other types of song viewer software we have linked a ChordPro version of the song to the song title below.

June 5th, 2022 LUG Jam

When: Sunday, June 5th at 4:30 PM

Where : Generations Market and Restaurant 717 Lake Park Road, Carleton Place

We are very excited to announce we will have our first-person jam! We will be holding the jam under the big tent at Generations Market and Restaurant. Located on the shore of Mississippi Lake and offering great food and great beer I am sure you will have a great time. The tent has space for well over 150 people and is open sided so social distancing should not be an issue. For more details on the venue check out their web site.

Please note the jam is on a SUNDAY and is starting at 4:30 PM. This is more in line with the way we used to run our jams. Hope you can make it. After all this time we are looking forward to hearing everyone play and sing.

We are posting the jam set list so that you have an opportunity to practise the music prior to the jam. You may note that the set list is a little longer than it has been for several years. We are hoping to go back to the old format for our jams: running on a Sunday afternoon, with a longer set with a break part way through. We will be projecting the chords and lyrics during the jam.

As usual we have a copy of the set list’s chords and lyrics available in PDF format here:

For those with an iOS device with the OnSong app, you can get a copy of the set as an OnSong Archive here.

For people with a different song viewer application we also make the set available via a link in the song title to a ChordPro file.

May Jam Update

We had hoped to announce a return to an in-person jam this month. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. As a result of the significant storms in Eastern and Southern Ontario, we have had to delay the jam until some time in June. The location we had chosen suffered damage and we cannot proceed with a jam until things are repaired. We feel that we should be able to announce the jam soon so stay tuned and keep strumming!

Isn’t It Nifty, We Have Reached 50

There are some big milestones with this upcoming Jam. This is our 50th jam via Zoom. We have performed over 774 songs together via Zoom (with over 450 different tunes). We are also marking the 10th anniversary of our first Jam in 2012 at Chuckles Jack in Smiths Falls. The jam was led by Garry Crabtree and Bridget Baker who started the Lanark Ukulele Group. Thank you everyone for your participation and enthusiasm over the years. It is truly a joy to be a part of this group.

To celebrate fifty, we have added some songs released 50 years ago as well as “Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover” into the set. We think you will enjoy the songs which will be lots of fun to play!

Our next zoom jam is on May 9th at 7:00 PM. As usual we will be starting the Zoom session at 6:45 PM and start strumming at 7:00 PM. The details for the Zoom meeting are as follows:

Most people enjoy the jams more if they practise the set in advance. We will be sharing the chords and lyrics during the jam but you can download a copy to practise. You can download a copy of the set list as a PDF from here:

For those with an iOS device and OnSong, you can download a copy of an archive copy of the set from here.

Finally for those with other song viewing software, we have linked ChordPro versions of the songs to the title in the Set List for you to download.

Looking forward to seeing you soon! Keep on strumming!
