Tonight is the Night!

Are you ready for tonight? Is your Uke tuned? Do you have a table stand? Got a Daily Ukulele Book? Down loaded your Albany Beginner book at http://albanyukulele.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/songbook15.pdf  ? Remember. If you are having dinner at Chuckles Jack it’s best to be there closer to 5:30 so you can enjoy the food before we start to strum at 6:30.

Drag a friend along.  See you there!

May 2014 LUG Jam

Here we go again.

Are you ready for another exciting summer of ukulele? Well let’s start it off right with a great Jam at our old stomping ground, Chuckles Jack, in Smiths Falls. As usual we will start with the beginner songs and move on the the trickier songs as the evening progresses.

Where – Chuckles Jack Restaurant, located in the Comfort Inn, Smiths Falls (down at the Canal behind the Giant Tiger Mall).

When – Sunday, May 25th, 2014, 5:30 p.m. for dinner (if you want) and 6:30 for the music.

As always, bring your Daily Ukulele book and the Beginners Albany book. See you there!

NOTE: If you don’t have these books then you can:
1) get the Daily Ukulele Book, by Jim Beloff, from Amazon
2) get the Albany book from their web site (It’s free – you just have to print it) OR
3) just show up and look on with one of our regulars. Most of us are very friendly.

Good Try for a Christmas Jam

Hello all.  I’m afraid my idea of a 15 December Uku Jam has fizzled out. Over the past week some neighbours who’d said they’d be interested in attending have been lured away by a local Christmas party and a live performance by Leahy in downtown Perth.  As well, several of you could not make that date either.

How do you compete with Leahy???  Seems Christmas outings have taken precedence over our plans.  However, I’d like to try again for a Jam sometime in January.  I’ll be in touch later in December with dates.  Sorry folks.  Guess that’s life!

Merry Ukulele Christmas to one and all.  Hope to see most of you in January.

Good cheers for now!

Meeting at Dan’s Place

A message from Dan. ——- Hello Folks: As promised at our last Ukulele session on 3rd November, I’d like to host a Ukulele practice at my place on Sunday 15 December. I’ve conferred with Susan Martin and she has promised to help out with the music end of it. We’re still debating however, the best time for everyone. Would you prefer mid-afternoon (2 to 4ish), late afternoon (3 to 5ish), or early evening (6-8ish)? Please let me know that you’re still interested in attending, and which time(s) you’d prefer.

My wife and I will have a few snacks, tea, coffee, etc. It should be fun.. and a little different from our usual restaurant venue. I don’t suspect we’ll be doing anything too complicated, but we may try a handful of Christmas Carols before we finish.

We’re happy to host a monthly session at our place until April/May when the snowbirds return from the south, or we can rotate venues if you like. It just seems a waste if we don’t practice at all whilst the snowbirds are away! (Wouldn’t it be nice to dazzle them with our musical talent when they get back in the spring?)

We’re less than 15 minutes south of Perth. Please call for directions.

Cheers for now. Call if you’ve questions.

PS: Please bring along friends if they’ve interest in the Uku. We’ve a few neighbours that we just might invite out as well. The more the merrier (Just let me know, so we’ll have enough places for all) !!!
